Nancy was my good friend all through school and then my sister-(in-law) shortly there after.  We were very close and had such fun together over the years.   I adore her children and grandchildren and try to be a surrogate mother/grandmother to them.  But she is irreplacable.  She has been gone for five years and we all miss her terribly.

Nancy, my dear friend.

I was trying to find Nancy on the computer when I came upon her obituary. I cried and cried. Nuni and I were friends from the start. Nancy's home was one of the homes already built when we moved into our new home. My sister and I were so thrilled to find girls the same ages as we were!  We used to play in and around the foundations of the new homes.  We were always looking for treasures.  We would stay over each other's homes frequently, often spending time in her pool,  playing with her sisters under the watchful eye of her collie, Timmy. As the homes were finished and occupied we had to ride our bikes to each other's home. Cresent Park Elementary school was within walking or riding distance. We would eat our lunches at the picnic tables, when didn't walk home for lunch, and hope to marry the Lone Ranger so we could see under his mask! Later in the Jordan Junior High days  Nuni, Pam, Ginni, and I would cover a lot of ground in the neighborhoods back and forth to each other's homes.. It was fun and free of worry. During the Paly years our circle of friends grew and grew.. Everyone met new people and we all became friends.  I remember Nancy and Gary's wedding in the Stanford chapel. She was beautiful, and Gary looked so handsome. They made such a nice couple. I was as nervous a bridesmaid as there ever was. Nancy and Gary moved often because of his job. They had two wonderful sons . Over the years  we would reconnect every so often. One time they were passing through Reno and stopped for a short visit. Their  boys were very young then. You could see how proud both Nancy and Gary were of their sons.  When I think of my childhood it's hard to separate it from Nancy. Nancy, you will always have a place in my heart.   I miss you..
