Bill was a very close friend of mine at Paly and for years after. He was the most important person of the small motorcycle group In Palo Alto, Raced in the 1960's, and later became a well respected Harley-Davidson mechanic.

His son Will made a great memorial site: http://billbaileymemorial.org/

Bill was my neighbor. He lived about 3 houses down from me. Bill had a younger sister named Barbara as I recall, and they were very nice people.  Bill was a little ecentric.  I remember when he would ride his bike as fast as he could, and when he got it up to top speed, he would jump from his bike in to the bushes. Why in Gods name would you want to do something like that, Freeeeeeeeeeky! He was more of a Evil Kneivel doing all kinds of tricks with his bike. Anyway, Bill and I got along just fine it's just that his interest were more in to motorcycles and cars and mine was mainly athletics. Bill was a really nice guy and super smart when it came to tearing a motor down. He will be missed.

I met Bill while in Jr. High. We both had a passion for model Airplanes. He was a lot more experienced that I, and I learned a lot from him. I remember him as being both a creative and perfectionist builder. In retrospect, this probably goes hand in hand but at the time it meant a lot of really great planes "hit the dirt". He was also one of the nicest and unassuming people you'd like to know. It is sad he won't be with us for the reunion....
