Thomas Glasiter's passing April 4th, 2018

Hello,

I am Tom Glaister's wife. I received an invitation to your Palo Alto High School reunion. Unfortunately,  Tom passed away on April 4th from a heart attack. I wanted to let you know so that you can take his name off of future mailings.

Best regards,

Carol White-Glaister

I am so deeply sorry to hear about Thomas, what a shock!! This kind of news is the only sad thing about bringing all these folks together. Tom was a wonderful athlete and generally such a nice guy. I am so sorry to hear about his passing, I know several of his basketball buddies will be saddened to hear the news. As you requested, I have removed the contact information for Tom. If you  ever want to reach anyone at Palo Alto High school, please feel free to ask. All the best to you.

Hi Ole,

Thank you for your expression of condolences. Tom was a wonderful and giving man, and a wonderful husband. We were together for almost twelve years and married almost eight of those years.

Unfortunately, Tom was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in 2012 and congestive heart failure after that. He suffered a minor stroke in December 2015 which caused no major injury to his brain. However, on March 2nd, 2016, he suffered a heart attack, but made a great recovery. Then, on April 26th, 2016, he suffered a stroke caused by all the blood thinners. Once again, made a great recovery. He was one tough guy!

So, although his passing has been very difficult to bear, I feel fortunate to have had those years with him. He left behind two beautiful daughters and an 11 year old grandson, whom I share a wonderful rerelationship with. I have attached one of my favorite photos of Tom, taken on our wedding day.

Best regards,

Carol

Carol,

I was a friend of Tom's starting in elementary school at Walter Hays and remember playing all kinds of sports with him and generally enjoyiing fun times with him.  He was a star athletic guy in our class and a well-liked and outgoing kid.  I spent time good times with him and his parents at their house when they lived a few blocks from Paly.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss and have nothing but good memories about him.  Please accept my condolences.

Dear Carol,

I was also with Tom and Nelson right from Walter Hays and though we haven't been in touch since high school, I also have nothing but positive and happy memories of him.

I'm very sorry for your loss,

John Alexander
